Town square
As the economic and administrative centre of the town, the square was where markets, fairs and meetings were held. The majority of the houses around the square were built with an open space at street level so forming arcades. This architectural complex is called “cornières”. The square is considered as a unique assembly of architectural styles and devices: Gothic arcades, Renaissance windows…
Placed on the south side of the square, the wall consists of three rows of wooden pillars on stone bases. beneath the hall on a raised platform you can see the ancient grain measures used for weighing crops.
